  • New Nokia 9 PureView image reaffirms design, shows 5 rear cameras and no notch

first_imgThe Nokia 9 PureView has been one of the most anticipated 2018 flagships that never launched in 2018. Months of rumours, leaked images and renders have already given us a fair idea of what to expect from the world’s first penta-camera smartphone. And for any skeptics out there, noted tipster Evan Blass just dropped a new image of the Nokia 9 PureView that once again reaffirms its design. The Nokia 9 PureView release date is expected in the last week of January, at least as per most recent rumours. On the eve of a brand new year, Blass tweeted an image of the Nokia 9 PureView. It seems to be an official marketing image by the looks of it, and it shows off the phone from the front and back. The Nokia 9 PureView camera can be seen clearly on the rear panel and its design keeps in line with past renders and live images. We see five cameras (powered by Zeiss, of course), an LED flash and what is rumoured to be a proximity sensor arranged in the shape of a pistol revolver. Blass doesn’t provide any details on the nature of the cameras, so that remains a mystery for now. Notably, there seems to be no camera bump in any of the images seen so far.Nokia 9 PureView “Beholder.” HNY pic.twitter.com/x4Kh3anP46Evan Blass (@evleaks) December 31, 2018The Nokia 9 PureView design includes a rear panel is made up of 3D curved glass. We also see the Android One logo on the bottom, which is expected. The Nokia 9 PureView should come with Android 9 Pie out of the box. The image also seems to confirm that the Nokia 9 PureView will not offer a physical fingerprint sensor, but rather an in-display sensor.advertisementThe image posted by Blass also reaffirms that the Nokia 9 PureView will not come with a notch of any kind. The display will see symmetrical bezels on the top and bottom and a more traditional 18:9 aspect ratio. It’s a surprising move considering HMD has been adopting the notch for most of its recent phones like the Nokia 8.1, Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus to name a few.Now that Blass has revealed what seems to be the final design of the Nokia 9 PureView, the big question is whether the flagship will run 2018’s Snapdragon 845 chipset, or the next-gen Snapdragon 855 SoC. We should also hear more on the sensors being used for the penta-camera system and other hardware-related information as we approach its rumoured Janary-end launch.ALSO READ | Nokia 9 PureView rumour roundup: 5 cameras, January launch and everything we know so farALSO READ | Nokia 9 PureView with five rear cameras launch timeline revealedALSO READ | Nokia 9 PureView with five rear cameras shown off in live hands-on imagelast_img read more
